DSWD Central Office to send more resources to field offices assisting families affected by the armed conflict in Marawi City

The Department of Social Welfare and Development continuously sends relief good to evacuees affected by the on-going armed conflict between government forces and terrorist groups in Marawi City.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development continuously sends relief good to evacuees affected by the on-going armed conflict between government forces and terrorist groups in Marawi City.

To ensure the smooth flow of relief operations for the families affected by the current armed conflict in Marawi City, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Central Office through the Disaster Response Assistance and Management Bureau (DReAMB)  prepared requests for sub-allotment and transfer of funds for Field Offices VIII and XII.

DSWD CO will download P19,080,000.00 intended for the purchase of 40,000 family food packs (FFPs) and handling and hauling for the delivery of relief goods for the victims of armed conflict .

Meanwhile, the amount of P 8,200,000.00 will be downloaded to FO XII for the purchase of relief goods for the victims of armed conflict in Marawi City.

Around 10,000 Family Food Packs (FFPs) will come from the Visayas Disaster Response Center (VDRC) and for delivery to Iligan City today.

As of May 27, 8am, 9,236 families or 43,912 persons have been affected in 20 barangays in Regions X and ARMM. Evacuation centers have been set-up to accommodate the displaced families and individuals and Food and Non-Food Items are on course for delivery.

The Central Office, Field Offices  in Mindanao, National Resource Operations Center (NROC), and Visayas Disaster Response Center (VDRC) in Region VII have a total stockpile and standby funds amounting to ₱1,354,750,413.82 with standby funds amounting to ₱1,024,030,820,26 at the CO and FOs. Of the said amount, ₱1,007,432,193.67 is the available Quick Response Fund at the CO.

The Department also has a total of 174,673 Family Food Packs (FFPs) amounting to ₱65,452,613.97 and available Food and Non-Food Items (FNFIs) amounting to ₱265,266,979.59.

Sec. Judy M. Taguiwalo assured that the entire Department is ready and willing to help “Buong DSWD ang handang tumulong sa ating mga kababayan sa Marawi. Magpapadala ng 10,000 family food packs ang Region 7 sa Marawi. (The entire DSWD is ready to help our countrymen in Marawi. Region VII will send 10,000 family food packs to Marawi.) ###
