Personnel of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) inspect the misting tents that will be used as disinfectant for clients and personnel entering the Department.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) received two misting tents from the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), through the initiative of Senator Christopher Lawrence Go.

The misting tents will be used to disinfect clients of the Department’s Crisis Intervention Unit (CIU) at the Central Office in Batasan, Quezon City. The CIU provides Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) such as financial, medical, and burial assistance. To date, CIUs in DSWD-Field Offices have released close to P117 million worth of assistance, through AICS, to clients nationwide during the quarantine period.

The misting tents will also be used for DSWD officials and employees serving as skeletal forces before proceeding to their respective work stations as part of the Department’s safety measures for its personnel.

The Department continues to provide unhampered public service during this critical period while adhering to safety and health protocols for the protection of its beneficiaries and personnel.  -30-
