DSWD Central Office, Field Offices on standby and prepared for emergencies

Taguiwalo has announced that the Central Office as well as the DSWD-Field Offices (FOs) in the National Capital Region (NCR), I, II, III, IV-A, IV-B, VI and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) are on alert and standby for any emergencies as heavy rains and strong winds continue to hit Metro Manila and surrounding provinces. FOs I, II, CAR, IV-A and IV-B and VI are also on standby.
DSWD- FO 3 has activated its quick response teams (QRTs) which are now monitoring the situation in the provinces of Bataan, Zambales and Bulacan. Some 7,000 foodpacks are prepositioned and ready for distribution in Zambales, while another 3,000 are ready to go to Aurora. The DSWD-FO3 itself has 30,000 foodpacks on standby and staff also continue to coordinate with local authorities regarding possible emergencies.
In the NCR, the FO has not received any request for assistance, but the staff are monitoring the situation given that there is a Yellow Warning Alert raised over Manila, Paranaque, and Quezon City. All quick response teams have been activated and are on standby.
No reports of civilian evacuations have been reported as of 7:30AM. ###
