Solo parents push for more benefits through HB 3398
News September 2, 2016, 0 Comment 67Officers and members of the Federation of Solo Parents in LuzViMin-United Solo Parents of the Philippines (FSPL-USPP), joined by the members of Social Welfare Employees Association of the Philippines (SWEAP) and the Confederation for Unity, Recognition and Advancement of Government Employees (COURAGE), hold a Unity Walk to express their support for the filing of House Bill 3398 introduced by Gabriela Party List Representatives Arlene D. Brosas and Emmi A. De Jesus, together with Bayan Muna Rep. Carlos Isagani Zarate, AnakPawis Rep. Ariel Casilao, Alliance of Concerned Teachers Reps. Antonio Tinio and France Castro, and KABATAAN Rep. Sarah Jane Elago.
Reps. Brosas and Elago filed House Bill 3398 yesterday at the Bills Index Section at the House of Representatives.
The provisions included in HB 3398 were proposed by FSPL-USPP, the umbrella federation of the 12 biggest, recognized solo parent associations nationwide.
The DSWD, under the leadership of Secretary Judy Taguiwalo, supports the immediate enactment of the Bill. ###
