Executive Director Patricia B. Luna (2nd from right) of the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC), an attached agency of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), poses with partners who were recognized during the Council’s 42nd Anniversary Celebration on December 12.

During the event, CWC encouraged its partners to continue advocating for children’s rights and protection.

“We would like to acknowledge and thank our partners in the promotion of children’s rights, specifically in the recently-concluded 2016 National Children’s Month Celebration,”  Dir. Luna said.

“Your presence today means a lot to all of us; it gives us hope that we have a lot of support throughout our journey as an organization,” she continued.

Organizations that were cited for their invaluable support to CWC initiatives were the Amalgamated Specialties Corporation, SM Cares Program for Children and Youth, The Soroptomist, Robinsons Land Corporation, Sun for All Children Incorporated, and the National Council for Social Development. The CWC also acknowledged the national government agencies (NGAs), faith-based organizations (FBOs), and other non-government organizations (NGOs) that helped in their advocacy.

“We cannot do this much without the support, help, and dedication of our partners. My sincerest thanks and appreciation to our partners’ unending support and to the role that they have played over the years in the success of the Council for the Welfare of Children. Our endeavor will continue to improve in all aspects, especially in advocating for the protection and promotion of children’s rights,” Dir. Luna ended. ###
